The Skin School Advanced Practitioner Pathway

From Beginner to Level 4 Skin Practitioner

The Advanced Practitioner Pathway is The Skin School’s complete training route for those looking to build a professional career in skin.

Starting from beginner level, students develop their foundation in skin before progressing into advanced Level 4 treatments, combining Ofqual-regulated qualifications with additional practical treatment training.

Rather than completing a collection of short courses, students follow a structured pathway designed to build their knowledge, practical ability and confidence at each stage.

Three Regulated Qualifications

The pathway includes three Focus Awards qualifications:

Focus Awards Level 3 Certificate in Entry to Aesthetic Therapies (RQF)

Designed as the foundation for students entering the skin and aesthetics industry without a formal beauty therapy background.

Training covers the core knowledge and practical skills needed to understand the skin, carry out professional consultations and provide skincare treatments safely.

Students complete all six mandatory units required for the qualification.

Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Skin Needling Treatments (RQF)

Students progress into advanced skin needling, developing the knowledge and practical skills required to safely plan and provide professional skin needling treatments.

Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Chemical Skin Peeling Treatments (RQF)

Students also complete a second Level 4 qualification dedicated to chemical skin peeling, developing their knowledge and practical skills in the safe selection, planning and delivery of professional chemical peel treatments.

Additional Practical Treatment Training

Alongside the regulated qualifications, students will also train in:

• Dermaplaning
• Hydrafacial with Oxygen Infusion
• LED Light Therapy

This gives students experience across a range of treatments commonly offered within professional skin clinics and allows them to develop a broader treatment menu alongside their regulated qualifications.

Practical Training From the Beginning

The programme begins with four practical training days at The Skin School.

We believe students should understand skin practically as well as theoretically, so the pathway combines hands-on training at the academy with guided home study, coursework and assessments.

Students then return to the academy as they progress through their qualifications for further practical training and assessment.

Practitioner Kit Included

Students receive The Skin School Signature Practitioner Kit containing essential tools and products to support their training and help them begin building their professional treatment offering.

Support Throughout Your Training

Students aren’t left to work through the programme alone.

Throughout the pathway you’ll receive:

• Direct support from Head Trainer Natalie Gage
• Coursework and assessment guidance
• Practical support throughout your qualifications
• Guidance on setting up and growing a skin business
• Treatment pricing and client-building advice
• Continued support as you progress from Level 3 into Level 4
