Botulinum Toxin (commonly referred to as Botox®), is a neurotoxin. It is used globally as a non-surgical treatment to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face (usually caused by facial movements such as frowning). During a Botox treatment, a very small amount of Botulinum Toxin is injected into the muscles using a small needle. This causes the muscle to relax and the skin around the focused area to smooth out. After treatment, skin looks rejuvenated and the appearance of existing wrinkles is improved. Effects continue to improve post treatment for up to 14 days and results can last up to 6 months.
